Study period : 2019-2023
World radiocommunication conferences (WRC) are held every three to four years. It is the job of WRC to review, and, if necessary, revise the Radio Regulations, the international treaty governing the use of the radio-frequency spectrum and the geostationary-satellite and non-geostationary-satellite orbits. Revisions are made on the basis of an agenda determined by the ITU Council, which takes into account recommendations made by previous world radiocommunication conferences.
National Preparatory Committee through its working groups carries out stakeholder consulations for preparating Indian views on WRC 23 Agenda items. The NPC is chaired by Sh. V.J. Christopher, Wireless Adviser, WPC Wing. NPC has five working groups that examine the studies on WRC Agenda Items, consider input contributions from stakeholders, hold discussions with stekholders and take into account the existing usages, future interest, Radio Regulations and ITU-R Reports & Recommendations in order to develop a national view on the method/ approch to be supported for WRC Agenda items.
